Rihanna is known for her mixed music style, and rumors have been circulating that she wanted to make a heavy metal album. However, her live guitarist, Nuno Bettencourt, has disputed these rumors. Here is what we understand Rihanna’s creative process and the type of music she wants to create more different genre albums.
Rihanna has come a long way since her debut album, “Music of the Sun,” which was released in 2005. Her music has evolved over time, and she has experimented with different genres. She has been successful in R&B, pop, and dance music. However, her live guitarist has dismissed rumors that she wants to make a heavy metal album.
Nuna Bettencourt has been working closely with Rihanna and has given insight into her creative process. He shared that while Rihanna has always been a fan of heavy metal music, she has no plans to create a heavy metal album at this time. Instead, she is focusing on producing music that is true to her artistic vision and unique style.
Rihanna is known for her ability to seamlessly blend different genres of music, and it’s this diversity that has made her a global icon. From her early hits like “Pon de Replay” to her more recent tracks like “Work” and “Wild Thoughts,” Rihanna has proven herself to be a master of musical versatility.
While Bettencourt’s statement may disappoint some fans who were hoping for a heavy metal album from Rihanna, it’s important to remember that artists should be free to create music that speaks to their individuality and creativity. Rihanna’s commitment to staying true to herself and her artistry is what has made her such an influential figure in the music industry.
Nuno Bettencourt talked in a new interview with Classic Rock Magazine and said: “When I spoke to Rihanna she was totally into transforming herself into a heavy rock chick. She was listening to Led Zeppelin and new acts like Paramore and said that was the direction she wanted to go, so I said yes.”
Also, Bettencourt added:
“That’s complete lies. That’s fabricated. It’s so incorrect. I promise you on the life of my children that those words never came out of my mouth. It’s a good story, which is why it got written I guess, but it’s absolutely not true. What happened was that they got in touch with me because they said they wanted a guitar player, and wanted to rock out the show, and they had seen some of my stuff online. I said, Why would you want me, there’s no guitar on a lot of the songs?
And I was told, that they just wanted me to be me, and do it on ‘Umbrella’ and everything, with heavy chords and riffs. I was like, ‘Wow, that sounds f****** exciting for a guy like me who loves all genres of music. That’s probably how that story started.’ But she didn’t want to do a heavy metal record.”
Besides the rumors of Rihanna‘s heavy metal album may have been circulating, they have been disputed by her live guitarist Nuno Bettencourt. Rihanna remains committed to producing music that stays true to her unique style and artistic vision. We can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.
