Wolfgang Van Halen Excites Fans On Next Mammoth WVH Album

Wolfgang Van Halen has excited his fans about the next Mammoth WVH album, saying that there will be some Meshuggah-inspired tracks.
Wolfgang has been playing music under the name Mammoth WVH since 2020. The band’s self-titled debut album was released in June 2021 to critical acclaim, with fans and critics alike praising the musician’s songwriting skills and musical prowess. The album features a range of hard rock and metal tracks, with standout singles including Distance and Don’t Back Down.
Mammoth WVH has also gained a reputation for its electrifying live performances, with Wolfgang and his bandmates delivering high-energy sets that leave audiences in awe. The band has toured extensively in support of their debut album, sharing the stage with fellow rock heavyweights like Guns N’ Roses and Foo Fighters.
In his recent appearance on TellUs Rock, Wolfgang, the son of Eddie Van Halen, revealed what kind of music he listens to during his free time. Sending praising words for Meshuggah, Wolfgang said they are one of his favorite bands of all time.
“Meshuggah,” Wolfgang answers when he revealed which music he listens to when he is not writing. “I love Meshuggah. I tend to listen to, at least recently, more heavier music. Like all the new stuff that’s come out. Animals As Leaders had a new album come out this year, and so did Meshuggah. But Meshuggah is one of my favorite bands. [They’re] nothing like Mammoth.”
Concluding, Wolfgang admitted there would be Meshuggah-inspired songs on his upcoming new album.
“On the next album, there actually is some Meshuggah-inspired songs — just through the lens of Mammoth, though,” he says. “So it’s not as super heavy.”
On October 9, 2022, Wolfgang Van Halen attended Meshuggah‘s show at the Hollywood Palladium in California. At the time, he called the band a “therapy,” as he tweeted.
Earlier this month, Wolfgang also shared an update about his upcoming next album. He said the album “is almost finished.” The following-up to the album will mark Wolfgang’s second studio album. As Wolfgang continues to carve out his own musical path with Mammoth WVH, there’s no doubt that he is making a name for himself as a talented and innovative musician in his own right.
